Once upon a time, in an often cruel and imperfect world, two children played gleefully on a beautiful spring day. The trees were budding, shouting that the earth was glowing and new.
Two children were remarkable and unique, as most children are but also the same for they were twins. Lan and Lee, only seven years old.
Each spring, the children would delight as they took their kites to soar in the gentle breezes of spring.
The winds were blowing fiercely and pulled young Lan’s kite higher and higher. Suddenly young Lan’s kite snapped, and the wind captured the kite. Lan looked at the empty string reel in her hands, and tears fell down her cheeks.
Lee was poised and came to her rescue, offering his own kite to soothe away her tears.
Lee wanted to bring a smile back to his sister’s face, fought the winds, and took his kite soaring into the air. Lee stumbled and fell into the mud along the way, his knees now battered and bleeding, but he felt no pain.
The kite was eventually torn from his hands and lifted higher and higher by the breeze.
Lee, not realizing he had been injured. Lan stopped crying and ran to her brother. Using her clothes to bandage his wounds and wipe the sweat from his brow.
The moral of the story is never be afraid to chase your dreams and, most of all, love with all your might!
