So you have heard me say it literally a thousand times or more. I love words, literally. I love how they dance inside my head and come out in these ornate, poetic declarations! I wanted to be able to learn Urdu as Umair, and I began our journey as he stated he wanted to better understand English. I told him I was writing all the words he was teaching me, and I kept a journal. His language is so beautiful and expressive. I also wanted to be able to communicate with my new family. So these words are in my head, in my journal, in my phone, and, as random as it sounds, often written down on whatever scrap of paper I can get my hands on when the lessons begin. I love words, and I love people. I profoundly love my family on this side and on that side! I am tired of people hating and I am tired of people declaring they are the all-knowing judge of what is or is not REAL! I despise haters! I dream of a world where people are loving and kind, less judgy, and way more sparkly! I have my own two cents version and I will offer it whether you want to hear it or not! khota– means donkey ( I am spelling mostly phonetically in Urdu, so you might also learn a little.)
chapell– means sandal
Tiegen– means ok
Rotay – means to cry
Tum Umair drama karday oscar grande – means little inside joke, the husband is a massive drama king, and the translation is “You Umair, massive drama king, you get the big Oscar!”
Ma!– means I am or me
Ungrais – means English, British, Canadian or American
Parte – means to study
Roti– means bread
Kutcheny – means nothing
Ja’Hal – means lazy
Tumhaari bouhat yaad aa rahi ha Umair -means I am missing you a lot Umair
Mi hermosa hombre Umair– means my beautiful man Umair! To which Umair will say am I a girly man Lynn! (he he! He is still beautiful)
Mon bel homme Umair– means my handsome man Umair (is that better?)
Tu eres mi Umair– means you are my Umair
Tu luna y mis estrellas Umair – means you are my moon and stars
Vos etes mon soliel et la luna et mes etoiles– means you are my sun, moon and stars
Mein aapse muhabat karti hoon Umair ( I love you) & Main aapse pyaar karti hu, (also I love you) both denote that I am a female speaking it. Aapki bahut yaad aa rahi hai (I miss you)
I think you will absolutely agree that Urdu is a language where the words dance a dance entirely their own, and I am forever captivated! Of course, Umair has also taught me the cuss words which I am not allowed to write, and if I speak them, he has urged me be ready to run!
