I have in fact flown in insanely hot weather to be with my husband

and had the most perfect wonderful time of my life

I have flown threw ice storms and waited for planes to be de-iced

My sister in law wrote in my EID card may your life with Umair be as spicy as Bryani and as sweet as vermillion. It’s true and all of our journey as been so many things. Our love is as sweet as vermillion since the day we began maybe sweeter. The only spice is generally the uphill battle we face to live together in our home in the same country.

It wasn’t Prince Charming from the neighboring castle who came to rescue me

Who would have thought two people from so far apart

I still can taste the tears the day I had to leave you in Islamabad 

Sadness and fear ripped at my insides 

I had felt this once before the day I left you in Dubai 

That time, I was able to hide my tears from you 

I cried all the way back to the US, every cute couple hugging in the airport 

Holding each other 

Reminders of me, reminders of you 

Reminders of our love and how perfectly we are together 

I felt all those feelings rushing back into my heart that day in Islamabad 

I could not hide the tears, and silently, they began rushing all around 

Until a tsunami of tears exploded 

You held me in your arms 

You gently wiped the tears from my face 

You kissed me sweetly 

You kissed me completely 

You promised this would be the last hard goodbye because very soon, we would be living together in the United States
