Writing

Daily writing prompt
What job would you do for free?

Writing, traveling, and vlogging would absolutely do for free if someone gave me the opportunity and handed me the world. Suppose I could travel everywhere and explore the history, treasures, and other cool places to share! Hands down! I got the bags packed! Grabbing my journal, phone, and cameras, checking yes, please! I am also incredibly passionate about making a difference and being a part of what the world needs more love, creativity, and collaboration! Since these are all things I love, I am totally down if they are paying for the flights, food, hotels, and maybe just a little bit of spending money! PS Since I already am the CEO of Mom, CEO of homecare for my Mom, helping her live her best life! I am already running two full-time underpaid, best-job in the world positions I feel like one more is just the icing to life! My day job is Executive Director/Curator but the world is my oyster someone just needs to open up and share the pearl!

Play Nicely in the Sandbox!

Daily writing prompt
How would you improve your community?

Photo by Polesie Toys on Pexels.com

How would I improve my community? The answer for me is simple, be a better human. There is no one person better than another. We have one community, and that is the entire world. The sooner we start seeing each other as equals, the better we will all be. We can make the world better than we found it if we stop pissing in the same sandbox we play in! So for me, the answer is simple, Be kind! Sparkle brightly! Love deeply! Treasure people and experiences! Value opportunities to grow! Share with your friends and be a good neighbor. If you get the chance, be a good steward for defending your zip code! After all, who doesn’t want the opportunity to be a superhero?

March 28, 1814, A Funeral

Photo by Ron Lach on Pexels.com

Imagine, if you will, it is the 1800s, and Dr. Joseph-Ignace Guillotin is tinkering around in his workshop! During one of his evil scientist moments, Joseph created the guillotine (naturally named after him.) To be clear, he was not an evil scientist by any records I have discovered; it just sounded super cute at the moment. After all, what completely sane person decides I am going to today create this massive wooden structure that will hold a blade that, when the lever was pulled, will promptly separate a person’s head from his shoulders? Joseph deemed this to be far kinder than the ax or the gallows.

It would be best to understand that Joseph, who felt entirely falsely judged for his invention, which he reiterated, was derived from the purest of motives. Joseph described his creation as a “philanthropic gesture” in what he deemed “social progress for the criminal justice system.” From what Joseph described as an aristocrat to enslaved person, all received the same outcome. I wonder if Joseph would have felt the same fleeting justice for the system if he had been at the opposite end of the guillotine lever. In the oddest details that I could have lived my entire life without ever knowing, they continued using the guillotine into the twentieth century! The other fact I could have randomly wandered through life without ever knowing is that there is scientific evidence to support the head can remain alive, for how long countless scientists continue to argue the evidence. There were reports Anne Boleyn attempted to speak after decapitation and that killer Charlotte Corday’s cheeks flushed, and she appeared angry after being slapped by an onlooker to the execution.

Cotton Candy Dreams, Whimsical Wishes, and Naturally!!!

Daily writing prompt
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Naturally, when I was five, I wanted the same thing I want today! I wanted desperately to make a difference in the lives of others. I wanted to walk softly on the earth and, if lucky, leave the world a better place than how I found it! To have the freedom to sparkle my way through my journey celebrating life. I loved all people and saw everyone and everything as magical. Boy, oh boy! Did I have a lot to learn!!! For the most part, even with the occasional evil witch, monster, and flying monkey, I still believe that people, for the most part, genuinely want to be good people!!!

I don’t have a clear idea of what profession I might have, and I just believed I wanted to go where I wanted to go, free to dream and leave a mark in the world that said hey! Look at that little short, red-haired shit, go sparkle pants!! Looking back, I would have liked to get to work sooner in my life on the world’s social injustices. I had no idea of the complexities of money, and I didn’t! I also don’t believe anyone should be straddled with massive amounts of money; everyone should get an equal opportunity and playing field! And if this massively wealthy person out there wants to be my personal funding agent, know I want to give to the world. I want to plant trees, and I want to give to people! Money will never make anyone happy, but to see someone’s face light up and radiate and glow light when you make a difference in their life! That is the kind of shit that has the power to change the world and fuel your cotton candy dreams! (eh hem! paging Christian Grey hybrid slammed into Mr. Darcy!)And naturally, I wanted to be one of those people who got to drink a massive amount of coffee because, after all, who does not get up in the morning to smell the sweet aromas of coffee?

Easter and a Whimsical Rabbit

Written by Lynn Marie Allen, Executive Director/Curator

As usual, hopping off on a journey and thought, as we approach Easter, why not explore some Easter traditions and history? Some of the most popular traditions of Easter include flowers, eggs, and of course, the bunny! Now, the apparent reasons for renewal and spring are obvious. Did you know, however, that burying a rabbit alongside the human in many early burials symbolizes rebirth and renewal? For these reasons, consuming (eating) the rabbit was forbidden at the time.

The “Easter Egg hunt” has been carried along in history as far back as 1600 in Germany. April, in England, 8th-century records the early history of Easter through the depiction of “Eosturmonath or Eostre Month.” Later, in England, the “Hare Pie Scramble” is developed as a tradition, and all the people are to scramble for a slice of the Easter Pie. The celebration depicts the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. I was rather surprised when I was researching to see and hear the return of witches and other hooligany-type antics that, if you dig, you will find surrounding Easter. In France, they refer to Easter Passover as Pâques. In Sweden, Pâsk, Germany, England, and now worldwide, we remember Easter, a little bunny, and perhaps his somewhat hooligany antics of hiding the eggs. As always, there is so much more to every story! Find it! Be sure to stop by and share with me what you discover! #historymysteries #travel

I have a foundation that I am in the process of jumping through all the required hoops to transport me into IRS legitimate foundation status. I want to make a difference in the world, raise money for underserved countries, the homeless, and hunger, and plant trees. It is a kind of make the world a better place foundation. The name of my foundation is “Be the spark in a sparkle for change!” With that said, if anyone has the desire to contribute to my foundation, I have started a Go Fund Me! As always, sparkle brightly, my darlings!

Oh Canada

So I have an odd request! I know I have Canadian friends who read my blog. Do I have any friends who would be willing to write a sponsorship/invitation letter for my husband to travel to Canada? Thank you from the depths of my heart! We want to be able to visit Canada. He would need a letter written for him to allow him to get a visa to travel.

Broken Pieces

Every single day, I stand and pick up the broken pieces, all the pieces of my heart with each breath longing to pull you nearer to me,

Each and every breath, I hold back the waves of the storm threatening to rage out of control, I linger inside my dreams to feel the way you pull me into your arms, nuzzle into your chest and breathe your into me,

Aching and needy, feel all the pieces of me that I never knew were missing,

Feel the tugging at my heart strings, feel the pieces you tenderly pick up and hold dearly,

All the scars scattered across my skin, your soft kisses leave trails where your heart has been, you in defiance proclaim each scar makes me more beautiful, you wipe away each tear and my heart screams of a love and longing only you fulfill in a way I have needed or wanted anyone

Each day filled with desire because of the time and distance that separates our worlds, I sit , waiting , longing for the man who walked into my life and teaches me the most beautiful way to see past the scars and hurt and loves me with a promise of forever and paradise.

86,400 Seconds

Forged by the flame by Lynn Marie Allen

As every word always is a testament, baby it is what it is!

Photo by Peter Fazekas on Pexels.com

There are 86400 seconds in each day, and there are precisely 31556952 seconds in a year … would it even be realistic to say there have been that many times or more you have taken my breath away. For every single moment of life that’s already passed, My only wish to spend each and every moment with you! I give the rest of my life and eternity all to you. When I hear you speak, you melt me to my core. You make me proud, you are mine! You make me want desperately to be so much more! I love the way you teach me Urdu and every other thing you have taught me! Today though something changed, and I heard you with a passion and a fire I cannot begin to describe. Your voice changed, and what I didn’t even think humanly possible you melted me entirely and put me back together again. Your voice is a song that I never ever want to escape … your voice and your strength came through your words today and made me even more proud than I already am! My husband, my heart you complete me! I want every second, and then I am greedy because I still want more… I want time to treasure and capture all the memories you gave me in a love so sweet, precious, fierce, and as always entirely for me.

Ta Gra Agam Duit….and Tattoos

What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

Photo by Dominika Roseclay on Pexels.com

The tattoo I want is “Ta Gra Agam Duit!” Gaelic, for I, have love for you! I have five tattoos, I know, short, shy, freckly redhead. SHOCK!!! I have a tattoo on my left breast! My right butt cheek, left shoulder, and a side piece that is not finished! In no particular order, they are a Gaelic promise (look up the clauddaugh), Tasmanian Devil eating a heart (Nom.. Nom!), a nickname! And a coat of arms! I am a work entirely in progress… kind of like me! Although the hubby says, “No More Ink! You are beautiful as you are!” Super sweet, but the ink is a way for me to be expressive. We are all humans, entirely imperfect. Tattoos, for me, became a way to cover scars that others left. The wounds are not visible to the naked eye. I took something very flawed and scarred and made it utterly perfect through my interpretation.
