In an often cruel and imperfect world, a girl lived on a mission to defend her zip code.
a shy, quiet, and lonely girl
always taking care of everyone else’s needs
stumbling softly in and out of life
until the day a shy and quiet girl came to see
an even more perfect side of love
the other half of who she was meant to be
to need someone in every possible way
a perfectly perfect love
a mirrored image of her heart
Once upon a star crossed dream
you asked me for forever
what the hell is that supposed to mean
pitter-patter are the sounds
twirling
swirling
all around
hold me close
scared to breathe
prayed to God you would never leave
surrounded in your love
I am finally free to be the person I was meant to be
You whisper tenderly
promises of love and forever
that glisten and glow like a candle’s flame
every moment separate from each other
tears and burns my soul
want to chase away the pain
silent are the tears
once trapped
now are set free
falling down my cheeks
scorched by the flame
the world can be cruel when it separates two beings who are both sides of everything
Together they are everything, separate they fight to breath, fight to find the way to simply be
