I am so blessed by my incredibly talented children, one is Zachary. He doesn’t know about the Umairs blog. But, Umair and I love to brag on our kids! Zachary drew this for my birthday present! I love Anya Forger! She is an inspiration to me! I love her spunky character and outlook on life! Same of Lufy! and he drew in Lufy but I see it as a colorful display of Umair and I!! Missing my husband a lot tonight!
Zachary is so incredibly talented and so I don’t mind bragging on him! I hope he realizes that WE are his biggest fans of his talent and that he fills our hearts so much!

I have some advice for you

If you ever think you’re going to enter into a long-distance relationship, it’s not for the faint of heart, but understand and know this profoundly

You have to communicate if you want to work, and you have to make time for each other

Celebrate your ups and downs together

I would tell you before marrying my husband, Umair, that I was not entirely fond of the phone 

In any form

What changed for me is that I treasure each moment that he and I have, and so I gloriously look forward to every phone call that we have, every text, and every interaction because it is precious to me, and I value our relationship

So my advice to you

If you’re going to be in a long-distance relationship, learn how to communicate

Make communication matter

Make your spouse a priority

Make being faithful to them a part of that commitment

I love Umair, and I treasure him 

I miss him in the short times when we’re not together

I profoundly miss his touches because he is mine, and I am his 

I miss my husband 

I have written probably 300 or more hallmark card love letters to him 

Like PHYSICALLY written 

And I have the love letters he has written me 

PHYSICALLY written to me

He gave me a broken zipper early in our relationship, and I carry that, too
